This year i have become an avid and die-hard baseball fan. from little league to highschool to college to minor league and pro, i adore baseball. it took my almost 23 years, but eventually i realized baseball isn't boring, its calculated, its rigorous, its the best pro sport, at least in my opinion. i've lived in the harrisburg area all of my life and have gone to Senators games for as long as i remember, hell, my oldest memory is of going to a game with my dad, tripping, busting up my nose and bleeding throughout all 9 or however many innings we stayed for.
At the beginning of the season i was quite the hater for the sens. having lived in the area all of my life, i have been completly surrounded by the loosing legacy of the lovable losers that play on teh city island diamond. Maybe its the fact that Stephen strasburg created such an amazing buzz, maybe its the new and improved metro-bank park, maybe its the fact that im addicted to sports talk radio and everyday 1460am plays the sens game and the announcers are amazing and great to listen to.
I don't know what it is, but yesterday when i went to the Harrisburg Senators win to clinch the series sweep of the reading phillies, i knew. i was officially a sens fan for life. all year i've been leaning towards it, i've been feeling very connected to the team by listening and following along to every game, hell, im tempted to buy a radio just so i dont have to sit in my car to listen.
I dont know if they end up tearin shit up if i'll be called a band-wagon jumper, i dont know if you CAN be a bandwagon junmper for a .500 team, but i am absolutly a 100% senators fan for life... and Danny Espinosa is my favorite player.
still waiting for that really good blog. these have been good teaser attempts... lets hope i can write something substanial at some point
